BIRMINGHAM HIP Resurfacing

The BIRMINGHAM HIP is stable over time

One of the concerns with any implant is how stable it is in the body. Some implants have been found to move over time, leading to failure in the long run. This movement is related to both the fixation of the implant and the ability of the implant to properly load the bone.

To evaluate implant stability, multiple studies have been done using precise techniques to compare the location of the implant in the bone. These studies have shown great stability for the BIRMINGHAM HIP (9, 10), better than many previously studied THR implants.
